TEA PARTY QUESTIONS

WHAT DOES THE PARTICPANT WEAR TO THE TEA PARTY?

A Tea Party dress – however she interprets that!

WHAT DOES THE MOM WEAR TO THE TEA PARTY?

Casual clothes.

DOES THE MOM STAY AT THE TEA PARTY WITH THE PARTICIPANT?

Yes. They sit with the other mothers.

CAN DADS COME TO THE PRINCESS TEA PARTY?

Yes, but only in place of the Mother. Only one parent should come with the Participant. It gets too crowded if there are too many parents.

CAN WE BRING SIBLINGS TO THE TEA PARTY?

No. The Tea Party is just for the Participant and one parent to accompany them.

DOES THE PARENT GET LUNCH AT THE TEA PARTY?

Absolutely!

IS THE TEA PARTY HELD IN THE SAME PLACE AS LAST YEAR?

Possibly. You will get the locations after you submit your application!

PRINCESS PAGEANT QUESTIONS

WHAT DOES THE PARTICIPANT WEAR TO THE PAGEANT?

A formal gown. You can see examples of what the Participants are wearing in the pictures on our site.

WHAT DOES THE FAMILY WEAR TO THE PAGEANT?

Dress up clothes, but not formal.

CAN WE BRING SIBLINGS TO THE PAGEANT?

Yes. And bring all your friends and the rest of the family, too!

HOW MUCH ARE TICKETS?

The event is free for everyone!

WILL EACH PARTICIPANT WIN AN AWARD?

Yes! Each will win an award, a crown, sash, tiara, and flowers. She will also receive a gift basket.

WHAT IS THE PARTICIPANT PRESENTATION?

It is a short, two-mnute “something” from the Participant. Many Participants choose to show a short video about themselves, however, some sing, dance, play soccer, skateboard (yes, all of these have been done!). It is the time for each Participant to shine by herself onstage.

CAN THE PARTICIPANT PRESENTATION BE LONGER THAN 2 MINUTES?

No, there are just too many Participants, sorry!

MY CHILD IS COGNITIVELY UNAWARE OF HER SURROUNDINGS. WILL SHE ENJOY THE PRINCESS PAGEANT?

There have been several Participants who enjoy these events with cognitive disabilities. Several returning Participants cannot speak, eat, breath by themselves and their moms tell us that they love it. We absolutely love them.

MY DAUGHTER DOESN’T LIKE PRINCESSES. WILL SHE ENJOY THIS EVENT?

Probably not. We do have Princes also 🙂

WHAT DOES THE PRINCESS PAGEANT COST FOR PARTICIPANTS?

$10. This covers the application fee and both events.
